The manor, the wood paneled dining room, the cocktails, the live music 🎶 Gave me all the feels, and exactly what I needed for a mini getaway 🌿 Sadly this DARLING sea shell handbag c/o @willowparkboutique is sold out 😭 they were so gracious in gifting it, and I’m bummed this is the first opportunity I’ve had to wear it! {we are ALL worthy} 🖤🤍🤎 I, like so many, have struggled w. how to articulate my thoughts these past few days. It’s not perfect, but it’s from the heart. So much sadness, so much pain. It’s heartbreaking on so many levels. This platform is a privilege + while I generally use it to share beautiful tid bits of life, I choose to not be silent any longer. This is not about party lines, it’s about human beings. I’m ashamed to admit it’s taken watching a video of a black man being murdered to stir up such conviction. While I was raised in a loving, God fearing household that instilled ‘love your neighbor’ and ‘all men are created equal’ {values I believe whole heartedly}, race was never a discussion. Not because oppression didn’t exist, but because it didn’t apply to ‘us’. We couldn’t relate, so it wasn’t our fight to fight or place to have an opinion. I am not racist, but I’ve also never actively been anti-racist. And I realize that’s part of the problem.⁣

These past few days I’ve challenged myself to get uncomfortable. To acknowledge my white privilege. To DO the research + educate myself {currently half way through the audio version of So You Want To Talk About Race by @ijeomaoluo - highly recommend as a starting point. And have loved following @latashamorrison + her faith based organization @beabridgebuilder to learn how I can contribute further}. To take a look at my heart. To ask myself what am I believing and how can I unlearn. To have more understanding + compassion. To be an ally, because while it’s true #AllLivesMatter, that’s not what we’re talking about. My life {and the lives of people that look like me} aren’t being threatened by racial profiling on a daily basis. I see you + I will stand w. you. • @rosebayfloralco | so incredibly talented 👏🏻 she’ll delivered hand-tied bouquets to your door. Order form available directly on her site, and she also regularly posts bouquets available for purchase day-of on her stories! ⁣⁣

• @feastandflora | haven’t ordered from them myself yet, but know so many florist friends that source their stems from this local farm! You can order direct from their site for pick-up or delivery.⁣⁣

• Horst Wholesale - you don’t need an account to purchase from them! They have a massive grab & go cooler open Mon-Sat. You can also order ahead to guarantee selection/color + pick up on your preferred date {I always do this for holidays}. ⁣⁣

• Not ‘local’, but the West Ashley Harris Teeter gets fresh deliveries on Tuesday/Friday + has the best selection for a ‘big box’ store ⁣in my opinion.⁣

• Of course Trader Joe’s for seasonal picks + inexpensive stems/filler. They get daily deliveries, but you can always ask them to check the back if you’re looking for something special. They’ll also give you a bucket w. water on the free 🙌🏻⁣

• NEVER, and I mean never purchase florals from Publix. Y’all please know I am a Pubs girl through + through {#shoppingisapleasure}, but their flower department has always been the pits 😔 No creativity + nothing interesting or seasonal. ⁣⁣

{mirror mirror...} ✨ melding our indoor/outdoor spaces is a constant goal of mine, and thanks to this new addition via @bedbathandbeyond we’re one space further in the courtyard 👏🏻 when we began designing + executing this space I always envisioned two large window-like mirrors on the siding, which will *eventually* be surrounded by creeping vines 🌱 love how they brighten the space + give the illusion of it begging a bit bigger; which is never a bad thing! But you better believe my appreciation for mature landscape is at an all time high 😂 Will for sure have my eyes peeled for established greenary + such when we house hunt the next time around 👀 although it is fun to gradually see the fruits of your labor...sometimes. #ad #bedbathandbeyond http://liketk.it/2PK3L #liketkit @liketoknow.it
