Back near the beginning of the year {late January to be exact}, I took a trip to a new-to-me spot in Florida. About an hour southwest of Fort Myers, lay the beaches of tranquil Captiva Island. Know for its soft sandy shores, tropical flowers + old world Florida charm, I was excited to discover this little slice of paradise for myself. In partnership with Lee County and Garden & Gun Magazine, I enjoyed a fun girls weekend exploring the island and capturing its beauty!
I’ve included some never before published snaps from the trip here, along with some of my key takeaways, but without giving too much away, I’d encourage you to read the full article on Garden & Gun for all the details and recommendations from this trip!
THE HIGHLIGHT REEL
RENT A CART | Can’t recommend enough! If you’re staying at South Seas Island Resort, the property is so expansive, it’s nice to be able to more easily + quickly access different parts of the property. Not to mention, a bit more fun! You can rent carts + bikes from Sunny Island Adventures.
OLD CAPTIVA HOUSE | This cozy spot stole our hearts! And bellies, if we’re being honest haha. My girlfriend and I went here for dinner one evening, and enjoyed it so much, we re-visited for brunch on our final morning in town. Everything from the coastal inspired interiors to the seasonally sourced produce oozes Old Florida charm. It reminds me of my younger years living in the state.
THE POINTE | Located poolside at South Seas Island Resort. Some of the best drinks + light fare we had during the trip! We opted to sit on the uncovered patio to soak up some sunshine. However, fair warning, the birds are not playing around. We really bonded with our nearby table neighbors over the bird aggression HA.
