Happy Monday, ya’ll! I’ve been spending these last couple days showing my Mom around Charleston – including White Point Park – one of my favorite spots downtown. It’s beginning to warm up just a tad this week {starting to feel a bit more like summer}, but we’re still enjoying the gorgeous outdoor weather before the humidity sets in. This Yellow Gingham Swing Dress was the perfect ensemble for exploring around town. It’s her first time back in Charleston since our wedding, so first time seeing the new ‘hood + home! It was nice to have an excuse to really get the new place in tip, top shape for Mom haha. Thankfully she loves it, which as many of you can attest to, it’s always nice to have Mom’s stamp of approval.
Last night we hosted an amazing ‘surprise’ dinner for both our Moms for Mother’s Day – which is a rare treat to have them both with us at the same time {mine lives in Colorado + Sterling’s Momma is over on Folly Beach, so she’s close}. We hired Chef Ross from R Kitchen {a local favorite of ours} + feasted on 5 courses of low country goodness. Ah, it was truly amazing not to have to worry about cooking, cleaning or serving – the whole fam really enjoyed it, and we were able to ‘just be’ {and shoe free} in the comfort of our own home!
This was our first time hiring a private chef, and I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking to do something a little different for a special occasion. And it’s actually not as expensive as you may think, especially when you consider the cost of drinks when dining out. Not to mention, you don’t have to uber anywhere or worry about serving/cleaning up the mess.
