It’s officially summer {yippee} and wedding season is upon us! I feel like I’m definitely at that age where everyone around me is either getting married or engaged. Fitting, I’m actually headed to Napa Valley tomorrow for my best friend’s wedding weekend {can’t believe it’s finallyyyyy here}!!! A Wedding is an exciting time for friends & family, and with such a momentous occasion, one must ask the question – what the heck am I going to wear?! Fear not, today I’m teaming up with Zappos to showcase an outfit fit for a wedding guest + I’ve included a few tips of my own below to help you navigate picking out that perfect outfit.

be comfortable Make sure your outfit is something you can stand to wear for hours on end. Don’t get suckered into purchasing a ‘tiny’ bit smaller sized dress or killer stilettos that will make your feet cry {trust me ladies, you’ll thank me in the end}. Something you can bust a move in without busting your seam. A wedding is typically not short and sweet; from the ceremony to the reception {and everything in-between}, so keep in mind you’ll be on your feet for a while.

be stylish This should be a given, duh. Pick pieces that are timeless and make you feel beautiful. It’s ok to go outside your norm and buy something that’s a bit more va-va-voom, after all you’ll be taking pics all night long! Don’t try to outshine the bride, this is her day, but you can certainly add a little sass + sparkle to your look. Be sure to have a small handbag or clutch on hand for the big day {like this lime stunner}, you don’t want to be toting around a piece of luggage.

be fitting Make sure you’re picking out an appropriate outfit in accordance with the wedding theme. I.E. if it’s ‘Black Tie’ don’t show up in jeans and a blouse, if it’s a ‘Barn Theme’ something a bit more casual like a sundress and wedges would be appropriate, etc. Think about the venue, season, potential weather, time of day – all of these aspects should factor into your outfit choice.

That top would be perfect for work attire as well. So versatile.

That skirt is so fun and fresh for summer! A great pick for a wedding weekend or even thrown on with a chambray shirt and sandals for brunch!
