Last weekend my Mom and I were thrilled to not only to explore a new city – Scottsdale, AZ – but also be hosted at one of Arizona’s finest resorts, the AAA Fairmont Scottsdale Princess! The staff on-site did a wonderful job {between a surprise margarita room-delivery and daily weather update cards on our beds – talk about attention to detail!} of making us feel special during our short stay.

My Mom lives in Colorado so it was great to be able to do a little Mommy & Me meet-up for a mini weekend getaway! We truly enjoyed a couple visits to the Well & Being at Willow Stream Spa – talk about relaxing! As if the 5 pools, 5 restaurants, 5 tennis courts and 2 TPC Championship golf courses on-site weren’t enough; the private spa is like walking into a desert oasis. Fully equipped with a rooftop pool {not to mention a dry sauna, steam sauna, waterfall feature…the works}, fitness center and a variety of spa services. We loved just sitting back {for once} and soaking up the sun during such a perfect weather weekend. We also had a chance to pop over to Primp & Blow for Mom’s first blow-out experience! So much fun! The salon not only does blow-outs, but also specializes in makeup application, waxing, and brows.

Of course the food wasn’t half bad either…some seriously authentic tacos at the little ‘hole-in-the-wall’ Jalisco Tacos on our way into town {a great Siri find – thanks iPhone}, healthy foodie picks at a local Scottsdale start-up Pita Jungle, poolside bites, more Mexican delights at Ironwood  + a 10 course chef inspired meal at Bourbon Steak – I’d say we were well fed.
