Shoe Wall in Master Bedroom

At this point, my love of shoes should come as no surprise. Even if you’ve never landed on before in your life, the shelves overloaded with footwear stacked behind me should be a slight indicator that well…I’m a shoe girl. Always have been. Some women pour money into handbags or designer dresses {while I do a bit of that as well}, shoes have always been a priority in my wardrobe. Not only are they arguably the most practical item on your body {getting you from point A to point B in your day to day}, they’re also THE BEST way to change up a look with the least amount of effort. And if you invest wisely, your shoes can stand the test of time, season after season.

4 Must-Have Winter Shoes In Your Closet

Over-the-knee boots are so darn tricky for me. Having a short stature makes it tough to find options that work well for my legs, but when you find the right pair…they’re golden. Love pairing over-the-knee boots with faux leather leggings + sweater, with long dresses for added warm, and even with shorter dresses so you can extend the wear time of your minis. Brands I’ve found suit me best with this style would be Marc Fisher and also Saks Fifth Avenue’s private label.

A classic, never fails or goes out of style. The heeled bootie can take you from day to night, casual to dressy. There’s an option for everyone. I’d recommend having at least one black suede pair, along with a cognac or tan leather. I find I get the most use out of these two styles.

Probably my most worst shoe style in the cooler months, because they just go with everything! And let’s be honest, it never gets that cold in Charleston, so I’m usually pretty safe with a little bare foot year round. From jeans to dresses, having an extensive collection of loafer colors comes in handy. However, comfort is key with this style. I tend to size up 1/2 size with loafers to give my feet some breathing room. Two of my all time favorite spots to score ultra comfy loafers are Birdies + Sam Edelman’s Loraine Loafers {wore these ALL through The Cotswolds earlier this year}. Also love Sole Society for their fun colors and trendier options.

If you would have asked me a few months ago, I would have never included this style, but seeing stylish hiking boots on stylish gals like Hayley have completely changed my outlook on this practical shoe. Granted there are certainly more ‘official’ hiking boots {love for those options}, but this are a fun alternative if there’s little to no snow on the ground.
