Nantucket Garden Tablescape | Blue Checkered Tablecloth, Bamboo Flatware, Block Print Napkins

Nantucket is such a magical place in the summer. The houses are covered in climbing roses, and their yards with blooming hydrangeas. During a recent girl’s getaway to the island, I wanted to create a table setting that was inspired by the surrounding island landscape, maybe a touch of Cape Cod and add my whimsical take on a Nantucket Garden tablescape.

Bringing all of these pieces together from a far {i.e. not having my own tabletop storage as backup} was a fun challenge, and I love how it all came together beautifully. From the pale blue checkered tablecloth, to the textured placemats and perfectly bloomed garden roses by Grace Rose Farm – this little set up is just calling for a chilled glass of rosĂ© and al fresco dining.

The sweetest shade of blue adds just the right amount of pattern I was looking for. Block print napkins c/o Amanda Lindroth.

Amanda Lindroth’s wrapped glassware aways adds the perfect amount of texture to a table. I love the contrast between the white + natural pattern of these!

Time and time again, Kim Seybert always comes up with the most creative colors + textures when it comes to placemats. These bamboo beauties are no exception. The craftsmanship and quality are unparalleled.

Personalized Name Cards

Let’s talk about these stunning hand-painted name cards, shall we? I had the pleasure of meeting my now dear friend, Meredith Hanson September 2019 during our first girl’s getaway! She was the ever-so-gracious host for having our Charleston crew stay at her darling Nantucket home, showing us around town, teaching us how to paint – it was an incredible first impression of this little 14-mile island.

A fellow creative after my own heart, she’s always been one who’s down for a fun collab idea! We actually teamed up together earlier this year for my childhood best friend’s citrus bridal shower invitations + paper goods. Such a treat, and truly blew the bride-to-be away! Naturally, when I mentioned this Nantucket Garden tablescape, she was on board to take it to the next level. Since my main source of inspiration for the table was all of the seasonal blooms of the area, I thought it would be sweet to make unique name cards for each guest that depicted a Nantucket flower. After some brainstorming and color palette analysis {I adore Mer’s attention to detail in that arena; an entire color tone can change at the flick of her wrist}, we landed on: a classic blush climbing rose, lavender, blue hydrangea + a violet climbing rose inspired by Grace Rose Farm seasonal selection. Personalization is the key to setting any table apart from the next, and I love how special these are for each guest!

Host Tip: if you’re looking to host your own garden-inspired tablescape, including each guests favorite flower {or perhaps a flower they remind you of for a specific characteristic} on their place setting would be such a sweet, personal touch! This could be achieved similarly to what we did here on place cards, or could be an actual bloom placed across their napkin with a sweet note.
