I’m excited to share a new tablescape with ya’ll this week! I don’t find myself entertaining quite as often in these chiller months, but any excuse to bring friends + family together has my creative juices going. Therefore, I’m thrilled to partner with Bed, Bath & Beyond to feature their newly released collection – Bee + Willow! I’m sharing my take on a modern floral farmhouse tablescape, using pieces exclusively from the new in-house line. Bed, Bath & Beyond is no stranger to COLOR by K. I’m constantly parroozing the site/store to shop their vast selection of products and adding to my own tabletop collection. So it’s all the more wonderful to see a brand that has done an incredible job sourcing + housing so many brands, launch their own private label! You’ll find Bee + Willow is a warm and welcoming collection of well-made home décor, furniture and more, designed to bring charm and character to your home.
How to Create a Farmhouse Tablescape
Like any tablescape I set out to put together, establishing my theme is always first and foremost. And by ‘theme’ I don’t just mean modern, or vintage or farmhouse. It could truly come from a simple color story, like this Thanksgiving table, where I specific wanted ‘mauve + mustard’. Or even a patterned fabric, like the one that inspired my 30th birthday theme. Having a specific point of view will help bring everything together! Bee & Willow’s collection pieces embody farmhouse so perfectly. I wanted to showcase a farmhouse tablescape theme, with my take on it. Insert all. the. flowers. Florals just bring a table to life!
I think another element that truly embodies this modern farmhouse style is bowls of fresh fruits + veggies. I love the pop of color meyer lemons brought to this table. Think about adding berries, citrus and other colorful {went edible/practical} foods within your design! But mostly importantly, keep it YOU and have fun with your entertaining style. There is no right or wrong.
One thing I love about floral design, is that anything can really be turned into a vessel for blooms! I’ve personally used anything from a bowl to a candle jar for arrangements around our home. Take these medium stoneware canisters for example. They’re advertised as countertop containers for dry goods. Which, they are perfect for! But, remove the wooden top entirely, and voila – you’ve got yourself a vase! Same could be said for the pitcher. Whether you’re working on a farmhouse tablescape, or other theme, these are great examples of how you may be able to use items you already have in your kitchen to create beautiful floral creations!
