Y’all know I LOVE any occasion to put together a pretty table and host friends/family. No get together is too small. From Galentine’s and Easter to Thanksgiving and Christmas, there’s really not an occasion I don’t love to celebrate. Father’s Day, while possibly not quite as highly publicized, definitely deserves some love just like the others! Therefore, I’ve partnered with Bed, Bath & Beyond again this month to share an approachable Father’s Day tablescape.
WHAT TO CONSIDER FOR YOUR FATHER’S DAY TABLESCAPE
- KEEP DAD AT THE CENTER | Remember, you’re celebrating Father’s Day! Do what your Dad likes! Whether that’s a casual grill sesh with a few family members, homemade pizza or BBQ in the backyard. Your tablescape should reflect him! Maybe bring in his family color with a table runner or napkins or a sweet note at his setting. I included Double Old Fashioned Glasses for my Father’s Day tablescape given that’s Sterling’s favorite cocktail. But I love that they can also double as water or even wine glasses {it’s your home – do what you want}.
- KEEP IT SIMPLE | Let’s be honest, Dad’s aren’t typically the family member that really cares about a fancy tablescape or that all the glasses match perfectly. Nevertheless, I think putting a little thought into your Father’s Day tablescape is simply a nice gesture for Dad, and hopefully makes him feel thought of and loved! Get the kids involved, and divvy out tasks so everyone pitches in in the process. For this particular table, I loved casually folding the napkins and placing them in old fashioned glasses. Just makes for a unique touch that feels thoughtful, but super easy and approachable. I used this tutorial as a guide, which still worked well without perfectly square napkins.
- MAKE A BALANCED MENU | I feel like most men love a well-rounded meal. I.E. protein, starch + veggies. At least that’s how all the men in my life operate. I could survive on salad everyday, but that’s a no-go in this household haha. Again, keep it simple. Heck – you don’t even have to cook if that’s not your thing! I’m the queen or pre-ordering and serving in my own dishes {#tricks}. And I highly doubt your Dad will even notice, or care! It’s more about the thought. So whether you’re a master in the kitchen, or a pre-order pro, just considering keeping the meal balanced so everyone {especially Dad} is happy.
