A couple weeks ago I co-hosted a fun-filled day on Kiawah Island with New England based blanket company ChappyWrap, in anticipation of their upcoming re-brand! I invited a few influencer/blogger friends to meet the brand, experience the blankets first hand {they really are the best; there’s no going back after you’ve experienced a Chappy!} and partake in an overall beautiful, ChappyWrap infused afternoon. We had makeup done, witnessed Chef Ross Webb from R Kitchen whip up a few dishes in the kitchen, went to the beach, took LOTS of pretty pictures, and truly enjoyed one another’s company.
I think my favorite aspect of helping brands create these special occasions, is being able to bring other sweet gals into the fold that I respect and admire. Getting to know women in your community and nurturing those relationships is so very important {in any industry}. I consider myself lucky to be surrounded by so much incredible talent and depth in this place I get to call home! I swear I still have that ‘pinch me’ moment a couple times a month.
One of the main elements I worked on was this poolside luncheon table. It turned out better then imagined {isn’t that just the best when that happens?!}, so I wanted to dedicate an entire post to this Kiawah Island Luncheon beauty! Including my thought process, how I pulled everything together, etc. since that’s something y’all seem to be interested in! I find so much joy in creating tables that feel like an experience rather than just on meal.
THE KIAWAH ISLAND LUNCHEON TABLE
For starters, the location was pretty set. Beth {the owner of ChappyWrap} threw out the idea of hosting the ladies at her stunning Kiawah Island home. I absolutely LOVE when brand’s allow guests into their homes to experience a little bit of their brands! It doesn’t happen often, but it’s such a special way for brands + influencers/press to come together in an intimate setting to get to know each other. Everyone feels comfortable, and quite literally – at home.
Naturally, I wanted this Kiawah Island luncheon to incorporate ChappyWrap in a fun way, but doing so in the spring heat {not ideal blankie weather} required a little bit of thought. We brainstormed using them as a table runner, linen or even as napkins or placards {cut up of course}, but in the end opted to drape each chair with one of my favorite patterns – the Beige Diamond Oyster! I loved the neutral color, and felt this pattern really set a tranquil tone for the overall design of the table.
From there I sourced tabletop from North Caroline based pottery brand Haand. Ya’ll, they are just incredible. Their designs are truly one-of-a-kind special pieces, and made to order. In the past they’ve typically only worked directly with wholesalers + restaurants {in Charleston you can find noshes being served atop their pieces at places like Citrus Club and The Spectator Hotel}, but they’ve recently launches an e-commerse site, allowing people like you and I to enjoy their pieces at home! They’ve even offered my readers 10% off any purchase with code HeyHaand!
Once I selected Haand’s white + celadon tabletop, I wanted to really layer the table with additional neutrals + textures. These pale printed napkins from Serena & Lily in color ‘fog’ were a beautiful touch. The fabric on these is also SUPER light + airy, so that felt fitting for the spring temps. Amanda Lindroth’s glassware can do no wrong in my book, and I love the texture her woven tumblers bring to the table. All of these neutrals really allowed Juniper & Jasmine’s florals to really pop off the white linen and breath a breath of spring air in to the mix!
