As part of COLOR by K’s rebrand, I’m thrilled to introduce y’all to a new series I’ll be working on each month in partnership with my dear friend Laura Boyd of Strawberry Banke Studio! Y’all, Laura is an entertaining GURU {from tablescapes, food pairings, food styling, decor – you name it} and I’m elated to collaborate with her each month to bring COLOR by K’s readers inspiration for colorways {like this bright green + pink holiday tablescape} you can incorporate into your seasonal tablescapes, tips for easy entertaining, tricks for food pairings to wow your guests + wherever these fun projects take us!
I feel I’m in that season of life where I’m focused {more then ever} on my home – home decor, art buying, hosting and entertaining. Topics I’ve never really incorporated into my blog, but have always been drawn to. I don’t know about you, but home decor blogs are more of my FAVORITES to follow. I mean hello, Emily Henderson, Jungalow, and Apartment Therapy – so much inspo!
With that, I’m excited to be working on something that’s creatively stimulating and a direction I’m passionate about. Not that my fashion pieces are dull and unexciting {still plenty of fun fashion styling headed your way!}, but it’s nice to mix things up. I hope y’all are pumped to see this progression and journey as well!
First up is this unexpected Bright Green + Pink Holiday Tablescape! As Laura and I were conceptualizing this holiday themed set up, I didn’t originally thing this is the direction we were headed, but once Wimberly Fair showed up with this STUNNING centerpiece featuring pink poinsettia’s and fruit {I died}, we shifted the look away from the traditional dark green napkins for a brighter hue. So fun right?! I love the fresh take on holiday.
I’d always recommend still incorporating some classic elements as well. We went with crystal glassware {a wedding gift I had registered for}, gold chargers and gold flatware. Laura also brought over some beautiful vintage, tin, floral plates that made for a beautiful more refined option. Don’t be afraid of mixing in family heirlooms if you have them! Those vintage pieces make a table setting all the more special.
