All the single ladies, all the single ladies…this one’s for you! I get it, as v-day rolls around there are a ton of women who cringe. Why, I’m not really sure. Just because you don’t have a significant other, doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate! Gather your besties, get on a cute {but not too desperate} outfit + hit the town! Grab drinks, coordinate an at-home wine tasting, see a movie, whatever – just make a night of it. This year I actually get the best of BOTH worlds: my hunny + bestie {since her bf is out of town + she’s coming to visit/support me with an upcoming event, she’ll be joining us for date night}!
One of my besties {i.e. GBFF}, Dan of Real Guys Wear Ties, + I are teaming up with Express for our second installment of the ‘He Said She Said’ series – showcasing looks + gifts that are perfect for your bests on Valentine’s Day!
{for any couple/occasion}
1. Crazy About You – I mean, just the name has you hooked. This is a fantastic restaurant if you’re looking to capitalize on Miami’s waterfront views. Indoor + outdoor seating is available with modern décor, along with an extremely affordable menu.
TIP: make reservations in advance + request an outdoor/patio table
2. Bazaar at the SLS Hotel – if you’re looking to empress {+ tantalize} the foodie in your life, Bazaar is the way to go. The tapas menu includes over 130 bite sized delights; from classic Spanish cuisine, to modern gastro-influenced creations.
TIP: order the table-side capellini drink; great presentation + way to start off the experience.
3. The Butcher Shop – for the casual date. Located in Wynwood, this trendy ‘beer garden’ is pretty cool. Not only do they serve up some killer drafts + drinks, the food is exceptional.
TIP: menu faves include the grilled octopus, beet salad + warm pretzel.
4. Sugarcane – perfect for a double/group date. Amazing dishes, all served up tapas style. Not overly fancy, but still a cool vibe that’s suitable to dress up for.
TIP: bacon. rapped. dates. That’s all I have to say.
5. Zuma – for a bestie date. Amazing cocktails {the most important thing here} + a great selection sharable sushi/entrée dishes. Swanky ambiance, close to popular bars/night clubs for post-drink dance sesh.
TIP: must try a martini, even if you’re not a martini person. You won’t be disappointed.
