As temperatures drop and leaves fall from trees, autumn fills the air and something shifts. In our household, that change typically comes in the form of me being in the kitchen more then usual haha. And the appearance of mini pumpkins all around the house. I find myself eager to make soups, bake muffins and entertain more than ever! Especially this fall since our courtyard is finally complete {minus string lights, which will hopefully be added soon}.
Last fall, I partnered with Harry & David to share my tips for hosting a Friendsgiving. Today, I’m thrilled to be teaming up with the brand again. This time, I selected from their sweeter offerings to create an autumn cheese + dessert table. This is such a fun spread if someone else is hosting Thanksgiving, and then heads to your house for dessert. Or if you’re just looking to mix things up from your typical ‘dinner party’ concept, so a late night dessert party!
Autumn Cheese + Dessert Picks
California Creameries Cheeses | It’s no secret, I have a thing for Cowgirl Creamery cheeses. They’re simply the best, so it’s no surprise Harry & David has the best of the best to select from in this category. Layer your cheeseboard with seasonal fruits like fresh figs + gooseberries, along with a variety of crackers and jams.
Preserves + Butters | Speaking of jams, I selected 4 flavors of preserves and butters to pair with with cheeses I selected for this spread. Fig preserves, tart cherry preserves, apple butter and pumpkin butter – we had so much fun tasting and testing different combinations throughout the evening. My favorite ended up being Mt Tam cheese paired with tart cherry preserves, topped with a honey crisp apple slice.
Apple Galette | Beautiful + tasty. Harry & David’s Apple Galette will give your guests all those fall feels, while making your table extra pretty. I sprinkled mine with a little extra cinnamon for added flavor and color.
Pumpkin + Cranberry Bliss Bars | The perfect two-bite nibble to place on decorative side plates. These pair perfectly with any fall drink or cocktail you serve up for your guests. I opted for spiked apple cider, but apple margaritas or a glass of red wine would pair beautifully as well.
Fall Popcorn | A little texture and a little added crunch. I placed different flavors in small bowls at each guests’ place setting. This created a fun little amuse bouche, if you will, as people first sat and mingled.
Pumpkin Cheesecake | A classic crowd pleaser. Harry & David offers official Cheesecake Factory originals in multiple sizes. They keep really well in the freezer, making this the perfect purchase, freeze and bring to Thanksgiving in a few weeks kind of dessert!
I think autumn cheese + dessert delectables that are perfect for fall entertaining, but would love to hear your favorite items/dishes you serve this season! Let me know in the comments.
