I’ll be honest, seasonal decorating has sadly not been a high priority for me this year. Which really does break my heart {ya’ll I usually THRIVE during the holidays}. But between entering final stages of our home renovation, prepping for the move, gearing up for my best friend’s wedding and making holiday arrangements – it’s been a slightly stressful few months. Nonetheless, I wanted to bring at least a little bit of festiveness to our temporary apartment! With the help of Yankee Candle, the space has been full of heart warming fragrance from their Fall Signature Collection that brings a smile to this holiday-loving gal’s heart.
As part of my ongoing Ambassadorship with the brand, I’m excited to partner with Yankee Candle again to share some tips for how you can spruce your coffee table for fall this month! All of which pair perfectly alongside a new fall candle, like Lakefront Lodge – my personal favorite from the collection.
Add in a New Fragrance
Candles are, in my opinion, the best way to instantly transform a space to feel a certain way. Doesn’t matter what color your walls are painted, or the fabric on your couch – introducing a new fragrance to any space will inevitably exude emotion. I love a clean, crisp citrus smell in the summer, but come fall I’m all for notes of musk, bergamot {all time FAV} and cedar wafting through the house. Yankee Candle’s new Fall Signature Collection has a range of cozy fragrances that will bring the warmth of fall {and upcoming holidays!!} to your home. Also love their newly designed labels, which are a little more of a simplified aesthetic. Although, pro tip – they’re also removable if you prefer to let the candle wax color really shine!
Using Items You Already Have
I’m a big fan of workin’ with what you got! Yes, we all love to purchase a few new home purchases here + there. But I swear, the holiday + seasonal decor gets more out of control year after year. So, utilizing items you already may have, along with a couple new additions is the how I personally keep my holiday decor in check and consistent year after year. Try incorporating things like:
- ANTIQUE BOOKS + BOWLS | Love using these items to add levels to a coffee table.
- FRESH FRUIT | Instead of storing all your fruit in the kitchen, think about putting it on display in your den or living room! From pumpkins + plums, to citrus + pears, it’s a great way to add color and shape.
- NUTS | Pretty and practical! My Mom used to often have a large bowl of un-cracked walnuts or chestnuts with a vintage cracker on a side table during the holidays. I’ve always loved the look of it, but as a kid really enjoyed the process of eating them.
- DRIED TWIGS + SPRIGS | Fresh blooms and greenery is always lovely, but now’s the time of your you can fully take advantage of dried elements that will last much longer throughout the season. Flowers you’ve dried yourself, a bowl of potpourri or sprigs from your local grocery are such sweet additions.
