Scalloped Skirt + Tiered Tank c/o L. Mae Boutique | similar Blue Cardigan | similar Natural WedgesMK Gold Watch | Per Lo Blue Rings c/o

I recently signed up for a floral design class series at a local floral shop {my first creation}. I honestly can’t remember the last time I did something just for myself + just for fun {that was completely outside of blogging/work, etc. – not that I don’t love my job, but you know what I mean}. I know fresh blooms are super ‘trendy’ right now, with everyone taking snaps + instas of their weekly buys {hey…I’m guilty as well}. But flowers have actually held a special place in my heart from a very young age. Every holiday, birthday, etc. my Mom + Dad would always surprise me with flowers {even to this day – they sent over a beautiful Easter arrangement last week}. Sterling caught on pretty quickly that flowers were truly the way to my heart – who can stay angry with a man standing there with a bouquet?! It’s always brought joy to my life, and something that signifies thoughtfulness + love to me; it doesn’t take much time, energy or money to brighten someone’s day with a handful of daisies, but it sure does go a long way in my book.

Aside from all that, for my first class I wore this spring-time ensemble from L. Mae Boutique. The scallop detail on the skirt was just too cute to pass up {p.s. they currently carry this little number in 3 colors}! I decided to wear the top untucked, but it actually looked super cute tucked-in as well. If tucked, you can see the waist cinch + gentle pleating detail.

What a lovely tradition your parents have kept with you throughout the years! I think it’s awesome that you have taken up the hobby of flower arrangement.
