Escape Day

Every now + then, we all need a day to escape reality. A day to kick day + just relax. In Miami, I feel like that’s much easier to do so more frequently – with gorgeous scenery + beaches all around! Although, an escape day doesn’t have to be elaborate – it could be as simple as working outside on your patio for a couple hours, or waking up early to go paddle boarding.

Last week I was able to do just that! The Hawaiian Tropic Summer #EscapeDay event came to The Lowes on Miami Beach, and low-and-behold, I just so happened to be available to swing by, haha {ok, so I put it on my calendar}. Even though it was smoldering outside {seriously…so. hot. out.} I enjoyed lawn side yoga {more like ‘hot yoga’ haha} via Exhale Spa, mini spa treatments, refreshments by Juice Press + some time in the sun. I absolutely love the sun {it’s tough not to, living in the sunshine state!}, but I learned long ago that protecting your skin daily is key to maintaining a healthy glow. Trust me – after working in a tanning salon for over 2 years in college {mainly sticking to spray tans!}, I’ve seen my fair share of the side affects of un-protected rays.

Sunscreen is something I apply literally every single day, and throughout all these years in FL, Hawaiian Tropic has always been my go-to favorite {obsessed with the Silk Hydration line}. Given all the activity taking place during #EscapeDay, I opted for the #HawaiianTropic Sport Line {still applying every 2 hours for safety}, which provided performance-protection, while allowing me to play in the sun – worry free!
