Celebrating Turning {almost} 30 with OLAY

When people {women especially} talk about turning 30, I feel it’s usually done in a negative way. The typical ‘oh my gosh, I’m so old’ or ‘ugh, let’s just pretend I’m 21 again’ saga always ensues. Buy why is that? WHY is the big 3-0 so scary for most?!

Today, I’m partnering with Olay on their #FindYourFearless campaign to embrace {and hey – celebrate} turning 30! Well, almost…t-minus 95 days for me. Whether you’re approaching 30, recently turned 30, or have passed this age ‘milestone’, I think we can all relate on some level the need for breaking free of the fear of age {or aging} is here and now.

I know every woman has their own story, and reasons for feeling the way they do about their age. I don’t presume that everyone is in my boat here, but I hope sharing my story and confidence as I approach 30 may help a few of you also feel there’s no need to be afraid.

For me personally, I’m happy. Think about that for a second. I. Am. Happy. Three really simple words that may be hard to say for some. But there it is. I’m content with where I’m at in my life, my career, my relationships. And for me, that’s a great place to be. That’s not something I could have said in my mid-20’s, but with age comes clarity. And with that clarity comes wisdom. I’ve been able to let go of a lot of my fears in the recent few years. Fears I’ve had in regards to my career {is this sustainable long-term, am I doing the right thing}, fears with relationships {am I surrounding myself with genuine people, am I being too vulnerable}, etc. My life is by no means perfect, but I’m in a place that feels right. Right where I need to be, and my age {no matter the number} can change that. So I’m embracing it – bring on the dirty 30’s! Haha. I’m sure this next decade will be full of challenges, but also great joys and successes.

Olay is encouraging women everywhere to break through your fear and push forward at any age – including the big 3-0! With that in mind, I hosted an amazing group of 30 {seeing the trend here? hehe} of my nearest and dearest in Charleston, to do just that – CELEBRATE! It was truly an amazing evening of community and supporting one another. Along with good food, drinks + laughs of course.
