Can y’all believe fall is around the corner?! Normally I’m all about truly living season to season, however with a little one on the way, it’s changed my perspective a bit. In an exciting way!
Today, I’ve partnered with Yankee Candle as part of their #FallInLoveWithYC initiative to share what I’m most looking forward to this fall. And let me tell you, a laundry list came to mind. I feel like there’s so much excitement in the air around us right now, it’s tough to narrow down just a few fun happenings. From baby announcements to engagements, relationships blossoming, graduations + new chapters – life is taking us by storm, and I’m just leaning into the joy!
ONE | Our Babymoon! I know this is a ‘newer’ concept {My Mom was like…a baby what?}, but I love the meaning and tradition to it. Our lives are undoubtedly about to change here in a few short months, and while we absolutely love traveling on a pretty regular basis, what that looks like will also change. We’re very much so looking forward to a relaxing escape where we can just be together, rest our feet and relish in what’s to come. Originally we were thinking New England this fall for some fun foliage seeking/leaf peeping. My girlfriend Jillian’s trip last year was giving me major inspiration! But now we’re leaning more toward a beach escape to Bermuda {Rosewood Bermuda just looks incredible} OR finally getting Sterling on Nantucket! We’re looking at traveling sometime around Labor Day Weekend through early October. Any other ideas?
TWO | Nesting. We moved into our new home less than a year ago, and with so many projects still on my mind, I’m trying to narrow down/prioritize what we need to tackle before baby. Aside from the nursery of course, think I’ve honed in on a few key rugs + window treatments. Our formal dining room chairs + sitting room furniture will have to wait, and I’m ok with that.
THREE | Fall cooking! Bring on those cooler temps and all those yummy fall flavors. For me, Yankee Candle’s Signature Collection fall fragrances truly embody fall cooking + baking. Similar to when I was growing up, having Harvest {my personal favorite} burning throughout our home, always inspires me to get in the kitchen and whip up something.
Aside from hosting Thanksgiving this year, and already scheming a menu for that, I’ve been on a big open face toast kick lately. And while I’m mostly been playing with watermelon, basil, goat cheese and tomatoes, I’m thinking caramelized apples, nut butters, cinnamon and bananas are on the horizon.
FOUR | Hosting Thanksgiving! To know me, it to know I thrive during the holidays. Love love love everything about that time of year. The decorating, the gatherings, the food, the fragrances, the memories – you name it. To me it’s not stressful, just pure joy. Simple as that. So I cannot WAIT to host a large portion of our family this year {about 20 of us}! It’s been 4 years since we’ve hosted, and the first time in our new home which will be extra special. I anticipate Yankee Candle fall fragrances will fill our home with warmth + goodness all week long! My Mom, Aunt + Nana are also big fans of the brand, so I plan to place a candle in their rooms to enjoy back home as well.
FIVE | Family time. Inevitably, we all seem to find ourselves around family during the holidays. Bust this year especially, I’m just so looking forward to spending time together right before baby. Just puts things into perspective a bit more, you know? Our parents + grandparents aren’t getting any younger, so time together is just so precious.
