5 Spring Wardrobe Must-Haves

With the season change, it’s now the perfect opportunity to flip your closet. Donate or sell those combat boots you haven’t worn since last winter and instead, spruce up your spring/summer style. What better excuse to sport colors from millennium pink {yes, she’s still around} to cornflower blue? These items, as well as hues, are sure to make your closet colorful and fresh for the new equinox. Below is a list of my Spring Wardrobe must haves!

1. SUNDRESSES

Hello ruffles! I’m absolutely loving all the girly dress trends that practically scream spring. These trendy textures have been layered on top of each other to create an even more spring inspired look {one layer of ruffles just isn’t enough}. The frills are out and here to stay! If comfort over fashion is your mantra, easy breezy silhouettes are fashionable and fitting {especially when Charleston heat is creeping up on us}. You can still look amazing in a long maxi while beating the heat!

2. STRAW/BAMBOO BAG

Wicker, straw, bamboo – on my! You know it, I know it, your mom knows it. Straw bags have been red-hot for years, and they’re not going anywhere. Wicker, rattan and woven pieces just can’t seem to keep themselves off the shelves of our favorite stores. And I’m sure not complaining. Each season they seem to come with a twist, and this spring I’ve noticed bag shape has been a key trend. From Easter egg shapes, to crescent moons, pushing the boundary with bag shape is more than acceptable.

3. FLOWER EARRINGS

I’d argue the best way to make a statement is through jewelry, and my current favorite statement has been floral earrings. I’m not talking flower patterned, but rather full blown flower shaped earrings. They might be bold, but they’re just the perfect statement to add with a simple look, or an over the top patterned dress. You really can’t go wrong with them. Put your hair in a high pony {to escape the sticky hot spell} and your earrings become the main attraction. Think of them as art for your lopes!

4. STRAW SHOES

The straw trend has been so popular, it’s transcended yet another must-have category for your spring wardrobe! Woven/straw/raffia {whatever your preferred word} slides, sandals and mules alike are all available! They’re giving me all the tropic feels, and I’m into it. Pop on some wicker flats and see for yourself!

5. ESPADRILLES

For your ‘fancier’ summer occasions, espadrilles are your best friend. The peep toe look is perfect for showing off a colorful pedicure. Not to mention, they’ll let your feet breathe a little in the heat. Perfect for pairing with all your new spring wardrobe sundresses or short suits!
