This look is hands down one of my favorite ensembles I’ve put together this year. I had this Yellow Gingham Skirt sitting on my clothing rack for weeks, trying to piece together the perfect combination of casual-cool. When I scored this uh-mazing woven wicker handbag in Argentina at an antique mall, it all just came together. Don’t you love when that happens? Lately I feel I’ve been trying not to ‘force’ outfits just for the blog, but rather wait for the perfect combination of pieces that really speak to me and feel right. It’s so much more inspiring to get ready in the morning with a more laid back mentality! With that, some of my best styling work shines! Doesn’t be afraid to mix old with new from your closet.
I love the woven-esk crossover between the skirt, handbag + even shoe detail. I opted for a little pop of color with the silk scarf handbag tie. This is a great way to mix up a look at an affordable price! Remember my 9 Ways to Tie a Silk Scarf post? Taking a page out of my own style book {#7 to be exact} for this look. Can’t wait to grow my silk scarf collection a bit so I can play more with this classic piece. It really does add a sense of sophistication to any outfit.
This yellow gingham skirt is pretty low in stock, so I’ve include a few similar other ruffled skirt options I’m loving! This black gingham is just darling, and this khaki one would be so versatile – plus perfect if you’re not a gingham gal.
p.s. I hope y’all have enjoyed following my Miami Swim Week trip! I’m homeward bound today, but will be sharing some fun looks from the weekend {like this layered top look} later this week.
