Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!!! I had every intention of getting this post live yesterday, but you know how it goes…family in town, last minute prep, forgotten grocery items, garage clean-out. That never ending list that you decide to start like the day before you have company. Oy vey. Anyhow, even though it’s a little last minute for your viewing pleasure, I’ve been working on this special spread all week! Or more like the past couple months, if I’m honest haha. From the mood boarding to execution, it’s been a lot of work, but 100% worth it.
This is Sterling + I’s first time hosting Thanksgiving in our home, and I could not be thrilled. Today, as all of our family arrived, some of whom haven’t seen our new-ish {two years} home in person, the adrenaline really kicked in. We’re hosting not just my immediate family, but also Sterling’s. Along with a few of my nearest + dearest Charleston friends! There’s just something really special about having the two sides of our family come together. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does my heart is full.
TABLE TALK
Let’s talk table, shall we? This mauve and mustard thanksgiving tablescape was actually probably the third {and clearly final} color scheme I toyed with doing. I originally wanted to stick to deep greens, burnt orange and mustard {similar to my Fall Fête last November}. Then shifted to ginger jar + orange {which honestly I will 100% do at some point in the future}. But ultimately when I came across this floral arrangement on Pinterest, I was sold. The idea of a mauve and mustard thanksgiving tablescape just seemed so fitting for my style, our home, the cheerfulness of the occasion – it felt right.
Fast forward a couple weeks after the final decision, I began sourcing items and piecing together the spread. I typically always start with my glassware because #1: I collect vintage glassware and love any excuse to add new colors to my cabinets, and #2 glassware is one of the more cost effective items you can purchase for a tabletop that you can use again and again in a million different ways. So bottom line – invest in fun glassware that you love!
I paired all these cheerful colors with sweet personalized pumpkin details by my sweet friend Meghan Trotter of J. Lily Design for the cherry on top! Can’t wait to host all of our family + friends today!!! So thankful for each and every one of them, and the joy they’ve brought to our lives. Hope your Thanksgiving is filled with the same!
