Gingham Crop Pants, Black Blazer + Navy Tank Blouse c/o Express | Schutz Pumps | similar Handbag | identical Sunnies | Lorac ‘mauve’ Lips c/o
It’s been a while since I’ve been in the corporate world, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good idea to have a few stylish separates in your wardrobe for the off-chance they’re needed. Plus, some of you may be gearing up for college graduation, and have job interviews {or job} attire on the brain. I remember when I graduated I had to go shopping for pretty much an entirely new closet – and yes, it was full of Express separates. They’ve always been my go-to for great ‘office’ basics, but I really love the fact that Express has done an amazing job making certain silhouettes more fashion-forward by incorporating different textures + patterns.
I like to think this look is classic, with a twist. I opted for this tiny grid print columnist pant – obsessed with the feel of the fabric! Not too heavy, which I prefer {I would suggest sizing up one, as the ‘columnist pant’ is on the slimmer side}. Paired with a black suit jacket to keep it conservative + a pop of blue. Side note on this tank – I wore the blush pink version recently, now the blue, and have since bought two additional colors. It’s the perfect tank; super soft, breaths, has movement + amazing color selection. Guys, it’s a must for your closet!

As a college senior I’m about to be on the hunt for jobs, so these are great pieces! Those pants are really, really cute & look comfy too.

Are you happy with how the pants fit? I REALLY need new work pants and I’m struggling to find a good pair for my 5’3″ frame. I love the idea of the Old Navy pixie pants, but I’m awkwardly between sizes. But anyways, you look great!

I LOVE this look. I haven’t had much need for office attire since I started working from home last year, but I agree that having some professional pieces on hand is always a good idea. Plus, I actually like workwear (shhh) when it’s as stylish as this.
